
PUBLIC NOTICE PRELIMINARY FUNDING RECOMMENDATIONS 2013 AFFORDABLE HOUSING PROGRAM Each year the Spokane County Community Services, Housing, and Community Development Department receives a formula allocation of HOME Investment Partnerships Program funding from the United States Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD). For the 2013 program year (July 1, 2013 to June 30, 2014), approximately $200,000 in HOME funds were made available for allocation through Spokane County's competitive application process. In addition, $825,000 in Affordable Housing Trust Fund (SHB2060) was made available for allocation to eligible projects. On September 12, 2013 the Housing and Community Development Citizen Advisory Committee convened to review applications and recommend projects for preliminary funding consideration. A total of 2 applications were received with requests totaling $735,000. This preliminary funding recom-mendation is open to public comment for 30 days beginning September 15, 2013. Spokane County invites interested persons to submit written comments to the Director of Community Services, Housing, and Community Development Depart-ment, 312 W. 8th, Fourth Floor, Spokane, WA 99204, concerning the Advisory Committee's preliminary funding recommenda-tions. Written comments must be received prior to October 15, 2013. On or about that day, recommendations for funding will be submitted to the Board of Spokane County Commissioners for their review and approval. The applicants receiving preliminary funding consideration: 1.Commonwealth/Whitewater Creek: The applicant requested $325,000 for the purpose of New Construction of the Arrowleaf II Town Homes, a 25 unit multi-family rental project serving low to extremely low-income persons/families with future options for home ownership. The project is located in the 3000 block of Park Street in Airway Heights. The project was recommended for conditional AHTF (2060) funding in the amount of $325,000. 2.Spokane Housing Ventures: The applicant requested $410,000 for the purpose of capital improvements to the Catherine Johnson Court Apartments, a 36 unit multi- family apartment building serving very low and extremely low-income individuals and families. The project is located at 6321 E Fourth in the Spokane Valley. The project was recommended for conditional AHTF (2060) funding in the amount of $410,000.
