SPOKANE CITY COUNCIL PUBLIC HEARING TO CONSIDER A RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE SALE OF THE CITY'S SOLID WASTE TRANSFER STATIONS TO SPOKANE COUNTY MONDAY, FEBRUARY 10, 2014 6:00 PM CITY COUNCIL CHAMBERS - MUNICIPAL BUILDING 808 W. SPOKANE FALLS BLVD. SPOKANE, WASHINGTON On Monday, February 10, 2014, during its 6:00 p.m. Legislative Session, the Spokane City Council will hold a public hearing in the Council Chambers, located in the Lower Level of City Hall, 808 West Spokane Falls Blvd. The purpose of the hearing will be to consider a proposed Interlocal Agreement Between the City of Spokane and Spokane County Regarding Transfer and Disposal of Solid Waste, to include the City's sale to Spokane County of two (2) sold waste transfer stations commonly referred to as the North County Transfer Station located at 22123 North Elk-Chattaroy Road, Colbert, WA 99005, Spokane County Assessor Parcel No. 37036.9060, and the Valley Transfer Station located at 3941 North Sullivan Road, Spokane Valley, WA 99206, Spokane County Assessor Parcel No. 45024.9027 including all structures and site improvements ("Transfer Stations"). At the hearing, the City Council will consider an Interlocal Agreement that provides for the sale of the Transfer Stations and related personal property to Spokane County for the purchase price of Nine Million Nine Hundred Thousand and 00/100 Dollars ($9,900,000.00). The agreement would also require Spokane County to deliver to the City of Spokane's Waste to Energy Facility all solid waste received by the Transfer Stations from November 17, 2014 through the term of the Agreement. The proposed Interlocal Agreement, as well as a legal description of the Property, may be obtained by contacting the City Clerk's Office at clerks@spokanecity.org or (509) 625-6350. Spokane County plans to continue to use the Transfer Stations as public transfer stations, and other similar uses. Public testimony will be taken at the hearing. The public comment period for written comments will be held open until the end of the public hearing. The City Council reserves the right to continue this public hearing.
