CALL FOR BIDS Sealed bids will be received by the Spokane Airport Board at the Spokane International Airport, 9000 West Airport Drive, Suite 204, Spokane, Washington 99224, until 2:00 P.M. on Monday, March 31, 2014 for: Felts Field Terminal Roof & Skyway HVAC Project, #13-19A AT FELTS FIELD AIRPORT It shall be the duty of each Bidder to submit his/her bid on or before the hour and date specified. Bids will be opened and publicly read aloud at the designated time listed above. Any bids received after the time for opening cannot, and will not be considered. A MANDATORY Pre-Bid Walk-thru will be held in the Lobby of the Felts Field Airport Terminal Building at 3:00 P.M. on Friday, March 21, 2014. Major subcontractors are encouraged to attend; however, it is mandatory for Prime Contractors only. Any bid submitted by a firm, which did not attend this pre-bid conference, will be rejected. The general nature of the Work is as follows: a.Base Bid work includes but is not limited to: removal of the existing HVAC equipment, conduit, piping, drains and roof membrane assembly down to the existing structural deck. Install of new insulation, drains, piping, single ply EPDM membrane system, HVAC and electrical items. Note: asbestos containing material is known to exist in this area. Work under this contract includes mitigation of this material. b.Alternate-1 work includes but is not limited to: repairpatching of the existing EPDM membrane roofing complete, to form a weather tight system. Note: asbestos containing material is known to exist in this area. Work under this contract includes mitigation of this material. All addenda will be issued through email. Bidders must order online to be placed on the Planholders List and to receive automatic e-mail notification of addenda. Additional project information, bid results (after bid opening), as well as information about other Airport projects are available from the Engineering Office of Spokane Airports Monday through Friday between 8:00 am and 4:30 pm or by calling Crystal Lewis at (509) 455-6414 or email at clewis@spokaneairports.net. A contract according to the General Conditions, Special Provisions and Addendums (if applicable) shall be signed prior to work commencing. Each bid must be accompanied by a cashier's check or surety bid bond, in an amount of not less than five percent (5%) of the total bid for all bid schedules (including sales tax). A performance bond, payment bond, and liability insurance in accordance with the contract documents will be required for the Contract. This is a prevailing wage project per applicable State Law. The Spokane Airport Board reserves the right to reject any and all bids, to waive any informality, to accept any alternate bids, and to make such award that it deems to be in the best interest of the Airport pursuant to the terms of the General Conditions. The contract will be awarded to the bidder submitting the lowest, responsive bid. All bidders are cautioned to be aware of the requirement to have their bids considered responsive.
