CALL FOR BIDS Office of County Commissioners of Spokane County, Washington Notice is hereby given that the Board of County Commissioners of Spokane County, Washington will receive sealed bids up to 10:45 o'clock a.m., on Wednesday, April 10th, 2013 at the Office of the Board of County Commissioners, 1116 W. Broadway Avenue, County Courthouse, 1st Floor, Spokane, WA 99260-0100. Bid Opening will be held 11:00 o'clock a.m. in Conference Room 2B at the Spokane County Public Works Building, 1026 W. Broadway Avenue, Spokane, Washington, after a last call for bids, all bids will be opened and publicly read aloud for the improvement project: COUNTY ROAD PROJECT NO. 3125D- for the improvement of Cheney-Spokane Road between Cheney City Limits and Spokane City Limits in Sections 11, 12, 14, 15, 16, 21, 28, 32 and 33, Township 24 North, Range 42 E., and in Sections 5, 6 and 7, Township 23 North, Range 42 E.W.M. by installing guardrail, guideposts, signage and other work; involving the following approximate quantities: Mobilization - 1 L.S.; Clearing - 1 L.S.; Removal of Structure and Obstruction - 1 L.S.; Select Borrow Incl. Haul Includes Embankment - 450 C.Y.; Beam Guardrail Type 31-8 Ft. Long Post - 175 L.F.; Beam Guardrail Non-Flared Terminal - 3 Each; Beam Guardrail Buried Terminal Type 2 - 325 L.F.; Flexible Guide Post - 430 Each; Sign Plate - 354 S.F.; Project Temporary Traffic Control - 1 L.S.; and other items of work. The following is applicable to Federal-aid projects. The County of Spokane, in accordance with Title VI of the Civil Rights Acts of 1964, 78 Stat. 252, 42 U.S.C. 2000d to 2000d-4 and Title 49, Code of Federal Regulations, Department of Transportation, subtitle A, Office of the Secretary, Part 21, Non-discrimination in Federally-Assisted Programs of the Department of the Transportation issued pursuant to such Act, hereby notifies all bidders that it will affirmatively ensure that in any contract entered into pursuant to this advertisement, disadvantaged business enterprises as defined at 49 CFR Part 46 will be afforded full opportunity to submit bids in response to this invitation and will not be discriminated against on the grounds of race, color, national origin or sex in consideration for an award. Each bid shall be in accordance with plans, specifications, and other contract documents now on file with the County Engineer, 1026 W. Broadway Avenue, Spokane, WA, where copies may be obtained by paying Twenty five dollars ($25.00) for each set. Each bid shall be accompanied by a Bid Bond, Certified Check or Cashier's Check payable to the Treasurer of Spokane County in the amount of five (5%) percent of the total amount of the bids, to be forfeited to Spokane County by the successful bidder in case he fails to enter into a contract and file an acceptable Surety Bond to fill the condition of said contract, within five (5) days of the date of award. An informational copy of plans and specifications will be on file in the Office of the Associated General Contractors at 4935 E. Trent Avenue; and Spokane Regional Plan Center, 209 N. Havana, Spokane, WA; and the Associated Builders and Contractors, Inc. at 12310 E. Mirabeau Parkway, Suite 100, Spokane Valley, WA. The successful bidder will be required to file a performance bond in the full amount of the contract price which bond shall be furnished by a Surety Company acceptable to the Board of County Commissioners. The Board of County Commission-ers reserves the right to reject any or all bids or any part of a single bid and to waive all informalities in the bidding.
