REQUEST FOR GRANT PROPOSAL
Activities to Increase Tourism in Spokane Valley
The Spokane Valley Lodging Tax Advisory Committee (LTAC) was established by the Spokane Valley City Council (Spokane Valley Municipal Code 3.20) in accordance with state law, to advise and recommend to the City Council how excise taxes on lodging collected in Spokane Valley should be allocated in order to best increase tourism in the City. The purpose of this Request for Grant Proposal is to solicit proposals from those non-profit and municipal agencies which encourage tourism in 2019 in Spokane Valley. Each entity responding should develop projects which meet requirements and increase tourism in the City of Spokane Valley.

NOTICE OF TIMBER SALE
The U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service is seeking qualified bidders to commercially thin ponderosa pine on portions of three refuge management units within Turnbull National Wildlife Refuge, Cheney, WA. The purpose of this project is to reduce hazardous fuels and to improve forest health and wildlife habitat. The project will involve thinning stands of ponderosa pine with a leave tree marked prescription using whole tree skidding.
One unit is planned to be thinned between November 13, 2018 and February 22, 2019. The remaining two units are planned to be thinned between January 7, 2019 and April 15, 2019. Actual start dates and work periods will be determined following awarding of the permit and will be contingent upon weather and soil conditions.
Interested parties should call the Refuge Office at 509-235-4723 to request a bid application package which will provide specific information on the units, special conditions of the sale, and required application forms. The Refuge Office is open 7:30 am until 4 pm Monday through Friday.
